The Nordic Happiness Summit

 Organised in the happiest region of the world – the Nordics. 

Happiness is a cornerstone of thriving societies, successful organisations, and fulfilled individuals. 

Despite economic, technological and societal progress, challenges like stress, societal pressures, and workplace burnout persist. These issues underscore the need for deeper understanding and actionable strategies to sustain and enhance well-being. 

The Nordic Happiness Summit aims to tackle these challenges by fostering dialogue between academia, industry, and students on embedding happiness at the national, organisational, and individual levels.

The Nordic Happiness Summit is an annual event hosted every other year in Helsinki and Stockholm.

  • Explore the key insights from the World Happiness Report in March 2025 together with the leading experts from the Nordics. Discover key longer-term trends on the development of happiness in the Nordics, Europe and globally. Gather valuable insights on how nations can cultivate well-being as a cornerstone for their societal success. 

  • Discover how organisations can through better leadership develop employer, customer and stakeholder well-being into a competitive advantage. Explore the importance of workplace culture for fostering creativity, productivity, well-being and resilience. 

  • Learn practical tools and strategies to develop your personal well-being and happiness, strengthen resilience, and find and promote well-being amidst life’s various demands. 

  • Explore how academic institutions can become hubs for cultivating happiness and well-being. Learn about cutting-edge research, innovative education models, and outreach programs that prioritise well-being, mental health, resilience, and community building. Universities play a crucial role in shaping future generations, and this track focuses on their potential to drive cultural and systemic change through a more systematic, ambitious and collective focus on well-being and happiness.

The Nordic Happiness Summit 2025 is a lunch-to-lunch event, offering a thoughtfully paced exploration of happiness across two transformative days. With a mix of keynotes, art, and immersive activities, the summit provides the perfect balance of inspiration, practical tools, and connection in the serene setting of Hanaholmen. A special programme will be offered to our guests before and after the conference in the City of Helsinki to explore its entrepreneurial ecosystem though tailored visit at Hanken Business Lab.   • The journey begins at midday with a welcoming lunch, setting the stage for meaningful connections in a tranquil atmosphere. The afternoon dives into powerful keynote talks from leading happiness researchers and thought leaders, focusing on national, organisational and individual perspectives on well-being.

    Highlights include insights from the World Happiness Report 2025, panel discussions on topics like happiness, democracy, longevity, and health and a Company Fair with Great Place to Work-certified Finnish companies. 

    As the day transitions into the evening, the energy shifts toward celebration and creativity. After a delightful Summit Dinner, the NHS-experience culminates in the Melting Man Art Festival, an awe-inspiring showcase of art, music, and cultural expression. Optional evening activities, such as traditional Finnish sauna, provide a relaxing and rejuvenating way to wind down the night. 

  • The second day begins with a nourishing breakfast and an exploration of the role and potential of universities in advancing well-being through research, education, and outreach.  

    Morning sessions will explore how academic institutions can become hubs for cultivating happiness and well-being. Learn about cutting-edge research, innovative education models, and outreach programs that prioritise well-being, mental health, resilience, and community building.  

    The summit concludes with a  closing lunch, where key takeaways are shared, and participants reflect on their experiences and connections. This lunch-to-lunch format ensures that attendees leave not only inspired but also recharged and ready to bring happiness back to their lives, workplaces, and communities.
